Dental care in Latin America is very limited and usually accessible only to the rich. Dentists are sought out for accidents and other emergencies but preventative care is an unheard of luxury. Since health education is basically non-exist, lack of knowledge regarding the importance of dental hygiene is commonplace. For this reason, gum disease and other problems are rampant. Latino immigrants come to the U.S with these attitudes and beliefs about dental care. Dentists often translate their standard marketing materials into Spanish which are ineffective since those materials dont address the issues necessary to attract Hispanic immigrants. A combination of lack of familiarity with U.S. systems, fear of the unknown and lack of information are the key factors that prevent Hispanics from accessing dental care. Immigrants often visit unlicensed dentists working out of apartment buildings sometimes with disastrous results. These Pseudo dentists are often Hispanics themselves and charge high fees, preying upon their own community. Experience has shown us that Hispanics are more than willing to visit legitimate dentists once language and cultural barriers have been removed. In order to tap into this large, loyal and lucrative segment, you must establish trust and build relationships. Educating the Hispanic community is key but staff must be trained in cultural behaviors that offend and impress. An effective Hispanic marketing initiative will cost one-tenth of the amount of a standard marketing budget with a much larger potential pay off. This webinar will teach you the best ways to reach, retain and dramatically grow your Hispanic patient base.
