 In Latin America, access to quality health care is limited.  Medical services are inexpensive compared to the U.S however most hospitals have no laboratories, radiography equipment or even nurses. Thus  61% of  individuals living in Mexico rely on home remedies or Curenderos (folk healers) for their medical care. There is a staggering lack of knowledge about basic preventive medicine as well as treatment of injuries and illness.  Mexican immigrants are often confused and bewildered by U.S systems. With Hispanic buying power currently estimated at one trillion, it is rarely financial issues that prevent them from accessing quality health care.  More often the issues are cultural.  Many Hispanics work as manual laborers and suffer on the job injuries. Since Workman's Compensation does not exist in Latin America, Hispanics often do not realize that their medical care will be covered by the employer.  They either do not mention their injuries or simply throw away the forms given to them by the employer due to lack of comprehension of the law.  Some fear that a medical office will not treat them without a Social Security Number.  Hispanics want the best for their children but are often unaware of  basic tenents regarding medical care that we take for granted in the U.S. Others are ignorant of the importance of treating infection and end up in the emergency room in serious condition. There is a dire need for medical offices to reach out to the Hispanic community,overcome cultural barriers and establish trust. The good news is that this can be accomplished without spending a dime! This webinar will teach you the best ways to reach, retain and grow your Hispanic patient base on a tight budget.  Establish a "Hispanic Friendly" office and be prepared for a huge growth spurt in your patient numbers.
